Picture this: traveling to Central America, meeting new people, having fun and learning more about photography, what could be better? Todd Shapera, one of our customers, has informed us about a photography workshop he is hosting in Costa Rica (March 8-15) and Nicaragua (June 28-July 4). We thought that this was such a great idea we wanted to share it with all of you! Omega Institute for Holistic Studies has invited photojournalist Todd Shapera to teach a one-week workshop , “Personal Vision, Distant Journey” on the lush grounds of Sueno Azul, Costa Rica, March 8-15, Shapera will lead a similar workshop at luxurious Morgan's Rock Hacienda and Eco-Lodge in Nicaragua from June 28-July 4 .

Both workshops will focus on developing participants' creative vision, and using photography as a passport for new ways of seeing and encountering our diverse world. Shapera will lead daily photo excursions to local villages, coffee farms, rainforests, on eco -adventures, and on the sumptuous Sueno and Morgan's Rock grounds. Evenings will feature cocktail hour critiques of the day’s images. Costa Rica participants will have time for yoga classes and spa. In Nicaragua, the itinerary includes overnight travel and lodging to historic towns and special regions.

Beginning to advanced amateur photographers, and beginning professionals are welcome. Shapera 's travel photography and writing have been published globally, including in The New York Times, The Financial Times, National Geographic Adventure , Forbes Global, World Bank publications, and many others. In profiling his work, Professional Photographer magazine wrote: " Todd Shapera is driven by a passion to capture the inner beauty and resilience of individuals just about everywhere on earth. He is linking disparate worlds through photography. " The Costa Rica workshop, including resort stay, is $1,600 plus airfare.
