Michele: Time to Say Goodbye

For those of you who do not know, my husband and I met in North Carolina 6 years ago. We have been married for over a year now. During all of this time he has commuted back and forth to Connecticut and I have flown all over the world on crazy weekend trips to see him. About a year ago he mentioned that it might be time to settle on one state and believe me I tried to convince him that Connecticut was the place to be. But when he brought me down to North Carolina (the sun was shining, people were extremely friendly, and the houses were gorgeous!) and we walked through a couple of houses I knew that I would have to say goodbye to Connecticut.

With the economy taking a downturn and the prices of houses also decreasing we The Back Porchdecided it was time to build a house. Over this last year I have been back and forth, picking out tile, carpet, fixtures, taking photos and signing papers. When I wasn’t there I put my husband on photography duty. We are having our final walk-through on the house in the end of April and our closing is in the beginning of May. So I am sad to announce that I will be leaving Century Color in the end of June (I have to wait until my daughter is out of school).

Over the past 6 years I have learned a ton about the photography industry! I can still remember meeting Greg and walking through the lab...I wasn’t even looking for a Family Roomjob, I just wanted to get some info on how to break into the photo world. It has been a great journey and I’m so thankful for the experience. From attending dozens of seminars, tradeshows, 3 sessions at NEIPP, meeting and becoming friends with tons of awesome photographers, I feel that I’ve made the most of my time here.

I will miss working at the lab and all of my great co-workers, as well as all of the The kitchen...will be my favorite place!!!daily phone calls and emails from photographers... answering all of your questions truly made me better at my job and a better photographer. During the last several months I’ve been transitioning my daily tasks over to Holly. She will be taking over most of my responsibilities and she’s already in charge of the blog, newsletters, marketing pieces, etc. Believe me, you’re in good hands! Please keep in touch...you can check out my website (not quite finished) at www.imagesbymichele.com and you can look me up on Facebook under Michele Manning. Thanks again!
