The Time to Market is NOW

If you haven’t already heard, we will soon be running a holiday card promotion and strongly encourage everyone to participate in this effort to increase holiday card sales. You’ll be seeing more about the promotion very soon.

 

This particular article is really about the need to actively market your professional photographic business and how Century Color can help you do just that.

 

A common theme at industry meetings, both formal (trade shows, seminars, conventions) and informal (summer picnics), has been the state of the economy and its affect on our industry. While there is valid reasoning behind the relationship of a slow economy and a drop in spending on professional photography, it is not a good reason to forego marketing efforts. We are all well aware of the cookie-cutter competition from big box stores and online companies, but there are always people willing to pay for quality and that’s what we offer as professionals.

 

As a professional lab, and essentially your business partner, we certainly understand that money is tight. We created ThePressRoom at Century Color to be a cost-conscious alternative to traditional print services. We want to make marketing easier and more affordable for you, our customer. You may order smaller quantities so you can test your market without having to order in bulk.

 

The card promotion is an ideal opportunity for you to increase sales on jobs that have already been shot. The only additional work on your part is to sit down at your computer for a few minutes and select an image from each job to display in the holiday greeting card of your choice. Each sample card that you take the time to create and send could potentially turn into an additional sale prior to the holidays. The problem is, so few photographers are making the effort to offer this product. But, we have seen first hand the success of holiday card sales for those photographers who take the time to market to their clients.

 

While we can’t guarantee your success based on these promotions, we can assure you that sitting around simply hoping for a change will not lead to increased sales. You have to actively pursue your next sale so let’s work together to make that happen.
