From the Teacher's desk ... an update from Sue Johnston

Hi everyone. I just wanted to provide a little update on my new career. I am just finishing up my second week as a full time teacher in a Hartford High School. I must say things are going relatively well. No tacks on my chair (yet), no false fire alarms, and no major melt downs (for me or my students).

I have somehow managed to set a standard of behavior in my classroom that has led to very few disruptions by students and managed to actually put my lesson plans into motion. I have the students totally convinced that I am a veteran teacher. They are absolutely veteran students and in just barely two weeks I have heard more excuses than I can count as to why they aren’t wearing their uniform appropriately or working on their assignment. But all in all, they are good kids who really just want to successfully complete high school. I am committed to helping them achieve that goal.

I appreciate all the support I have received from my friends at Century Color as well as the words of encouragement from so many of Century’s wonderful customers. I miss you all, but I am thrilled to finally be where I know I am meant to be, in the classroom.
